More Great Fishing Action
June 22nd, 2009Phil Arcadiou and the team from ’BALIVO’ Had a great day fishing in the waters off the Duke of Yorks. The catch of the day was this 89 Kgs Blue Marlin which Casey fought for 1.35 hours. The days other catches included GT, Dog Toothe Tuna, Yellow Fin Tuna and a couple of Mackerel.

The Search for the AE1

Yet another search , this time funded by National Geographic and Channel 7 was recently undertaken and failed to find any evidence of the AE1.
Undertaken by Commander John Foster (RAN Retired) the team for reasons only known to them again wanted no input from our Dive Centre. Some two years ago Gerry Byrne and the Resorts Dive Centre filmed what has been confirmed as a Submarine. Sitting in 110 metre of water in an area that the locals have said since its dissapearance in 1914, they sighted its return back into Simpson Harbour.
As the mystery of AE1 remains just that,the Dive Centre, would welcome specialst divers interested in closing the mystery.
